In one of the sessions, Jackie came over to ask me about her life.I told her I would not tell all things I could see about her as I do not want to appear omniscient. She was insistent. She told me it would all right to tell her everything that I could visualize about herself or her family. At first I was really hesitant. First, I do not want to play God and influence the future decisions of one individual. Second, I believe man's destiny is fashioned by complex conditions - our decisions, circumstances and God's will.I told her, being a Christian, our best way to determine our real destiny is examine our life.
Jackie remained persistent. I tried to close the talk by saying that one of her parents just needed to be careful with his or her health condition. She asked me who that was. I refused but safely responded that it would be one coming out of her mind now. She told me she was thinking about her father but rebutted the idea, claiming her father had been doing strict gym routines and exercise. Although she admitted her father to have had some heart problems.
I did not explain further since I was beginning to see something bad. As a friend, I had to screen the bad visions to my friends. As a result, I have been trying to be prudent with my words. I ended up saying that it would be best to just hope for the best and pray.
After three months, I found myself at the burial service of Jackie's father. While sitting down next to her, she mumbled: "I just realized you are a prophet of doom."
